Position: Non-Traditional Programs Advising Coordinator
Location: Athens Campus
Department: Division of Student Affairs
Reports to: Director of Registration and Records
Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefits package.
Deadline to Apply: March 24, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Student Affairs and Academic Affairs in providing outreach to potential applicants enrolling in non-traditional programs.
• Establish and implement a system to contact and follow-up with any newly enrolled students enrolled in non-traditional programs.
• Provide students enrolled in non-traditional programs with individual assistance in academic advisement, career exploration, job placement, and support services.
• Develop appropriate informational materials explaining services offered to students interested and enrolled in non-traditional programs.
• Promote awareness of services for students enrolled in non-traditional programs by speaking to classes and student groups in the college and civic organizations in the community.
• Develop and conduct group activities to promote retention of students enrolled in non-traditional programs at the college.
• Provide training to faculty on how to understand and effectively work with students enrolled in non-traditional programs.
• Work with instructors of students enrolled in non-traditional programs to monitor course progress and provide intervention for academic problems.
• Develop and present programs, seminars, workshops, and other activities for students enrolled in non-traditional programs, such as time management, study skills, goal setting, money management, and job search.
• Develop a bank of resources that can be used by students enrolled in non-traditional programs to enhance their ability to remain in school and complete their programs of study.
• Respond in a professional manner with accurate and complete information to any questions or concerns registered by students or members of the general public.
• Establish, coordinate, and maintain follow-up procedures to evaluate student response to non-traditional program services.
• Track, document, and communicate monthly reporting, to include direct services to students, outreach, student outcomes, and supports provided.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field *and* two (2) years related work experience.
Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis
Preferred Qualifications:
Three (3) years of experience working with non-traditional programs.
