PT Switchboard Operator
Position Summary
Main responsibility is to answer and direct telephone calls in a polite and informative manner in a fast-paced environment. Process all inter-communication through multi-line, unlimited **extension switchboard.**
Position Responsibilities
• Answer and delegate incoming calls.
• Perform receptionist responsibilities- greet visitors, receive packages** **
• Perform clerical duties**. **
• Open/Close switchboard.
• Make Public Announcements**.**
• Receive and delegate calls regarding resident appointments.** **
• Check telephone bills for personal long-distance calls.
Minimum Education And Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
• Must have general computer and keyboarding knowledge.
• Possess knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment.
• Ability to speak English in a clear, pleasant voice and manner.
• Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions.
• Ability to read and sort mail.
• Ability to hear and respond with tact and courtesy to a wide variety of situations (including residents, visitors, and staff requests) in both routine and emergency situations.
• Have a pleasant and courteous personality.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all resident and employee information.
Physical Demands
• Ability to sit long periods of time.
• Good hearing and speaking ability.** **
• Ability to handle stress.
• Physical presence in the office is required.
