Job Summary
The Clerk Typist 2 is a full-time, 12-month AFSCME position that provides administrative and clerical support to Residence Life, Housing, and Dining Services (RLHD). Reporting to the Associate Director of Housing and Dining, this role supports essential housing operations, student services, departmental communication, and office management. The Clerk Typist 2 plays a critical role in maintaining accurate records, responding to student and family inquiries, managing housing-related processes, and supporting professional staff to ensure efficient, student-centered customer service.
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience performing clerical or administrative support work in an office setting.
• Proficiency with keyboarding and general computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), email, and standard office equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow written directions and produce accurate, organized documents.
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform data entry with accuracy and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in a higher education or student affairs environment, particularly in Residence Life or Housing operations.
• Prior experience using Banner, housing management software, or other student information systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including roster creation, list updates, and mail-merge functions.

The starting salary for this position is $36,108.00, based on the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.
This position may be eligible for a flexible hybrid work arrangement, permitting a combination of on-site and remote work, subject to applicable organizational policies, operational requirements, and supervisory approval.
