Pathology Assistant (ASCP)
Role Description
This is a contract, on-site Pathology Assistant (ASCP) role based in Athens, GA. The Pathology Assistant will provide support to pathologists in the preparation, documentation, and dissection of tissue specimens. Day-to-day responsibilities include gross examination of surgical specimens, assistance during autopsies, maintaining laboratory equipment, adhering to safety and quality control protocols, and ensuring compliance with laboratory regulations. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and collaboration with medical professionals.

Qualifications
• Strong foundational knowledge in Histology and Pathology, with expertise in Human Anatomy
• Proficiency in Laboratory Skills and Laboratory Medicine
• Ability to work in a high-volume lab environment with exceptional organizational and time-management skills
• Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with pathologists and medical staff
• Certification as a Pathology Assistant (ASCP)
• Prior experience in a clinical pathology is highly preferred
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field such as biology, pathology, or medical sciences
