Title : Electrical & Controls Engineer II
Location : Greater Athens, GA
Compensation : $95,000-$130,000 base salary and relocation assistance
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute engineering tasks related to electrical control systems for various projects and plant operations with minimal supervision.
• Develop and assess technical specifications for electrical equipment and process initiatives.
• Support the Corporate Electrical Team in reviewing and implementing company standards and guidelines.
• Aid manufacturing operations by enforcing electrical safety protocols and initiatives.
• Oversee and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed successfully and on schedule.
• Verify adherence to technical specifications and contractual obligations for equipment and services within plant maintenance and project activities.
• Maintain effective communication with management and stakeholders regarding project progress, challenges, and adjustments.
• Coordinate and supervise supplier and contractor work related to plant support and projects, including commissioning, startup, and staff training.
• Prepare bid request documentation, compile supplier lists, evaluate bids, and make purchasing recommendations.
• Oversee project budgets, timelines, scopes, and deliverables, ensuring the project meets organizational objectives.
• Manage external engineering resources and consultants as necessary to support project needs.
• Provide operational support to identify root causes of failures and develop corrective action strategies.
Required Skills:
• 3+ years of electrical and controls experience
• BS in Electrical Engineering - required
• Experienced in heavy industrial environment (building materials, pulp/paper and chemicals - preferred)
• Proficiency with PLC troubleshooting and programming
• Solid knowledge of DCS (Experion, DeltaV, etc.) and instrumentation equipment
• Power distribution (13,800V, 4160V, 2300V - preferred)
