Harrisburg Global Academy, opening for the 2026–2027 school year, is seeking passionate and highly qualified founding teachers for grades K–6. Located in one of the fastest growing communities in the region—Indian Land and Fort Mill, the school is building an exceptional founding faculty committed to strong academics, meaningful relationships, and a globally minded educational experience for students.
Harrisburg Global Academy’s mission is to provide a rigorous, student-centered education through a workshop-style instructional model that encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and personalized learning. Students will also participate in a world language program designed to build global awareness and communication skills beginning in the elementary grades. Position Summary
Founding teachers at Harrisburg Global Academy will design and deliver engaging lessons aligned to state standards while using a workshop model approach that balances whole-group instruction, small group differentiation, and independent student learning. Teachers will play a vital role in creating a collaborative culture focused on high expectations, strong relationships, and continuous improvement .
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality instruction aligned with state academic standards
• Implement workshop-style teaching that includes mini-lessons, small group instruction, and independent learning
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Foster a classroom culture that promotes student voice, collaboration, and inquiry
• Support the school’s world language and global learning focus
• Use formative and diagnostic assessment data to guide instruction
• Collaborate with colleagues in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
• Build strong partnerships with families and the school community
• Contribute positively to the development of the school’s culture as a founding faculty member
Required Qualifications
• Valid teaching license/certification in the appropriate field
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
