What We Look For In a CPA FAR Tutor
• Advanced Test Mastery: Deep knowledge of CPA FAR section content including financial statements, revenue recognition under ASC 606, leases under ASC 842, consolidations, government and nonprofit accounting, inventory, fixed assets, bonds, and stockholders equity. Ability to explain GAAP framework, SEC reporting requirements, and governmental fund accounting while preparing candidates for the FAR section of the CPA examination.
• Strategic Test-Taking & Problem-Solving: Skilled at teaching journal entry construction, financial statement preparation, and task-based simulation strategies for CPA FAR. Guides students through consolidation eliminating entries, pension accounting calculations, lease classification analysis, and governmental fund financial statement preparation. Emphasizes understanding the authoritative codification research tool and applying standards to multi-step transactional scenarios.
• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with CPA FAR content blueprint and common challenges such as government and nonprofit accounting, consolidation procedures, and applying recently updated standards. Adapts instruction using CPA review course materials, practice task-based simulations, and diagnostic analytics to support accounting graduates targeting the FAR section for CPA licensure completion.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
