What We Look For In a IB Physics Tutor
• Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of IB Physics curriculum covering mechanics, thermal physics, waves, electricity and magnetism, circular motion and gravitation, atomic and nuclear physics, and additional HL topics including wave phenomena, fields, electromagnetic induction, and quantum physics. Ability to explain IB data booklet formula usage and IA requirements while preparing students for IB Physics SL and HL examinations.
• Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: Skilled at teaching quantitative physics problem-solving, uncertainty analysis, and experimental design for IB Physics. Guides students through applying kinematic equations, analyzing electric circuits, solving wave problems, processing experimental data with error propagation, and constructing evidence-based explanations. Emphasizes connecting physics to real-world applications and develops skills for the Internal Assessment laboratory investigation.
• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with IB Physics syllabus for SL and HL and common challenges such as uncertainty calculations, HL electromagnetic induction, and meeting IA experimental design requirements. Adapts instruction using past IB examination papers, data booklet exercises, and IA guidance to support IB students at both Standard and Higher Levels preparing for internal assessments and final examinations.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
