Newsroom Manager
We are seeking a disciplined, detail-oriented Newsroom Manager to oversee reporting operations and ensure the factual accuracy of all published content. This role is solely focused on managing reporters, enforcing verification standards, and safeguarding editorial integrity before publication. The Newsroom Manager will assign stories, track reporting progress, review source documentation, confirm multi-source verification, and conduct final accuracy checks prior to approval.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage daily reporting workflow and enforce publication deadlines
• Review sources, transcripts, citations, and supporting documentation for accuracy
• Ensure proper multi-source verification and fact-checking procedures
• Identify legal, compliance, and reputational risks before release
• Build, implement, and maintain standardized editorial verification systems
• Oversee reporters working across extended and 24/7 coverage schedules
• Hold team members accountable for sourcing, documentation, and editorial standards
• Approve stories for publication only when verification requirements are fully met
Qualifications:
• 5+ years experience in newsroom management, investigative reporting, or editorial oversight
• Broadcast news experience strongly preferred
• Experience building and managing newsrooms operating on 24/7 reporting cycles
• Deep understanding of fact-checking protocols and source verification
• Knowledge of media law and risk mitigation principles
• Exceptional organizational and decision-making skills
