Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Pay Range: $52,104.00 – $72,924.80 Location: Greenwood, SC Hours: 8:00am – 5:30pm Monday – Thursday; 8:00am – Noon Friday Position Summary: Under occasional supervision, reads and records meter readings on assigned route. Connects and disconnects water, electric and gas services. Maintains monthly records. Transfers the Tantalus Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system and the Itron Automated Meter Reading (AMR) system data to and from the Customer Information System (CIS). Assists supervisor with maintaining AMI, AMR, and Field Deployment Management (FDM) systems. Performs other customer service duties as required. Reports to the Meter Service Supervisor Work Environment: Requires working in difficult weather conditions (rain, heat, cold, etc.); Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle, small hand tools, computers, etc. Must be able to exert up to twenty pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work; must be able to drive, remain on feet for periods of time, work in confined spaces, traverse uneven terrain, stoop, kneel, push, pull, climb, balance, and lift and/or carry weights of up to 100 pounds. Required Skills and Qualifications: Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by one year of experience with meter reading/maintenance and/or general electrical service and repair work, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Requires a valid S.C. driver’s license. Essential Job Functions: This position is responsible for transferring AMI/AMR data to and from the CIS system; collecting data driving through the AMR system and visually reading and recording data for any meter readings not collected by the AMI/AMR systems. Prepares and maintains complete and accurate route records. This position is responsible for routine reports, updating information in the system and detecting issues out in the field.
