The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring that students continue to receive quality instruction in the absence of their regular teacher. This role requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and a passion for fostering student growth and development. Responsibilities Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of instruction. Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain a conducive learning environment. Engage students in learning activities and encourage participation. Provide support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with special education requirements. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding student progress and classroom activities. Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the varying needs of students. Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other school activities as needed. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance. Preferred Qualifications: · Education: Associates degree or higher · Experience: Pre-service experience required for certification. · Knowledge, Ability & Skills: Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. The ability to perform independently and in groups. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask when necessary. Knowledge of theory and practice of student learning styles. Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations and statutes. Ability to remain pleasant and calm under sometimes-stressful circumstances. Ability to communicate cooperatively and constructively with other staff, students and parents in a multi-cultural environment. Computer skills including word processing, database, spreadsheet and graphics.
