Switchgear Design Engineer (1616220) — Summary: This role focuses on configuring and engineering low and medium voltage switchgear solutions to meet specific customer requirements for large commercial and industrial power projects. You’ll work within a customer order engineering team to interpret customer drawings and specs, design circuits, and generate clear engineering documentation that supports manufacturing and field applications. Day to day you’ll leverage 2D AutoCAD and related engineering systems to modify standard platforms, manage changes, and guide projects from order through shipment. Requirements BSEE or BSME (or similar engineering degree) from an accredited institution. At least 3+ years of design or manufacturing experience in switchgear assembly, with hands-on experience modifying standard designs to customer specifications. Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD and related engineering systems/tools used to document electrical designs. Responsibilities Interpret customer drawings and specifications, then configure and adapt standard switchgear designs to meet unique customer requirements while owning the project through the order lifecycle. Review and analyze product configurations, design and document control circuits, and collaborate with drafting, purchasing, manufacturing, and quality to ensure accurate build information. Serve as a primary technical contact for customers, participating in project reviews, drawing approvals, inspections, and witness tests while supporting product marketing, manufacturing, and field sales applications. Important Notes Role is fully onsite; standard expectation is ~40 hours per week and overtime is not anticipated.
