Job Summary
Managed Care Negotiator is a key member of the Managed Care team, collaborating in evaluating, negotiating, and executing financially and administratively sound contracts with new and existing payers with goals established by the organization and director. This role involves intricate financial and strategic analysis, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and maintaining strong, effective relationships with external partners.
Required Qualifications
- Require a bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance, is highly recommended. A master’s degree in related field of study or Juris Doctorate is preferred.
- Require a minimum of two (2) years of managed care experience within a medium to large healthcare system.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer previous contract negotiation experience including agreements for facilities, physician, and ancillary providers.
- Prefer demonstrated understanding of financial analysis, claims, and regulatory changes impacting Managed Care.
- Prefer demonstrated organizational and time management skills to maximize productivity and outcomes.
- Prefer demonstrated proficiency in PC-based software, the ability to instruct staff on complex analysis, and develop complex reports.
- Prefer the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with payors and leverage interpersonal influences to achieve organizational goals.
- Prefer demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of a health care delivery system, industry contracting practices and administration, redline and contract analysis.
