Process Simulation Engineer
We are seeking a Process Simulation Engineer to support advanced modeling and process development for glass and ceramic substrates and filters. This role focuses on improving product performance, optimising manufacturing processes, and reducing cost through strong analytical and numerical modeling expertise.
🔧 Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and apply thin film modeling to evaluate product performance under various loading conditions
• Utilize FEA and BEM modeling tools (Abaqus, Ansys, or similar) for product design, manufacturing optimization, and failure analysis
• Build or enhance modeling/analytical tools to improve process understanding
• Lead and recommend product testing to meet commercial and manufacturing qualification standards
• Mentor teams on mechanical testing and measurement methodologies
• Prepare technical reports, invention disclosures, and publications
• Collaborate with global R&D, engineering teams, and customers to address thin film and product engineering challenges
✅ Qualifications:
• M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field + 4+ years experience OR Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Strong foundation in solid mechanics and numerical modeling
• Experience with FEA/BEM modeling (Abaqus, Ansys, or open-source FEA tools)
• Knowledge of thin film interface adhesion
• Understanding of mechanical behavior of soft materials (gels, polymers)
• Strong mathematical modeling and programming skills
• Ability to translate complex problems into mathematical models and validate with experiments
⚠️ Note: Chemical or Electrical Engineering backgrounds are not aligned with this role. Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with globally distributed teams and customers.
