Job Title: Process Technician
Job Description
As a Process Technician, you will be responsible for importing, interpreting, and modifying centroid files for PCB assembly processes. You will program, set up, and load production data into pick-and-place robots, ensuring accurate and efficient assembly of circuit boards. Your role involves operating pick-and-place equipment, performing basic troubleshooting, adjustments, and machine maintenance to maintain consistent performance. You will collaborate closely with engineering partners to refine processes, resolve issues, and support new product introductions, working on electronic assemblies built to IPC Class 2 and Class 3 workmanship standards. Additionally, you will verify component placement, orientation, and accuracy during setup and production runs, assisting with process documentation, workflow improvements, and quality initiatives.
Responsibilities
• Import, interpret, and modify centroid files for PCB assembly processes.
• Program, set up, and load production data into pick-and-place robots.
• Operate pick-and-place equipment to assemble circuit boards accurately and efficiently.
• Perform basic troubleshooting, adjustments, and machine maintenance.
• Collaborate with engineering partners to refine processes and support new product introductions.
• Work on electronic assemblies built to IPC Class 2 and Class 3 standards.
• Verify component placement, orientation, and accuracy during setup and production runs.
• Assist with process documentation, workflow improvements, and quality initiatives.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
• 3+ years of robot operation experience
• Experience with robot programming
• Familiarity with reflow ovens, stencil printers, and other SMT equipment
• Basic understanding of process control, workflow optimization, or lean manufacturing principles
• Centroid files
• 2-year electronics degree is a plus

Work Environment
You will be working in a small, family-owned electronics manufacturing environment consisting of 13 people. The work hours are from 6:30 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday. The dress code is casual, allowing for jeans, t-shirts, and closed-toed shoes.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gaithersburg, MD.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $54.40 - $59.50/hr.
