INVO is seeking Behavior Support Specialists for a school program in New Tripoli PA (Lehigh County). The Behavior Support staff plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with behavioral needs within educational settings. This position requires a dedicated individual with an Associate's degree and a passion for making a positive impact on students' lives. The Behavior Support Staff will work closely with students, teachers, and other school personnel to implement behavior management plans effectively and promote a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Behavioral Support : Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) developed by the Behavior Specialist or School Psychologist to support students with challenging behaviors.
• Monitoring and Data Collection : Monitor student behavior and collect data to track progress towards behavioral goals and objectives.
• Collaboration : Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and other educational staff to ensure consistency in behavior management strategies across different settings.
• Crisis Intervention : Assist in crisis intervention as needed, following established protocols and ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff.
• Documentation : Maintain accurate records of student behavior, interventions implemented, and progress towards goals.
• Supportive Environment : Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes the social-emotional growth of students.
• Training and Development : Participate in professional development opportunities related to behavior management and intervention strategies.
• Communication : Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, and strategies for support.
• Compliance : Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations related to behavior management and special education services.
Qualifications:
• Associate's Degree Required ; additional education or training in behavior management or related fields preferred.
• Experience working with individuals with behavioral challenges, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping students achieve their potential despite challenges.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
• Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the changing needs of students and the school environment.
Working Conditions:
• Full-time position based on the school calendar schedule.
• Work primarily within educational settings, including classrooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces.

As a school-based opportunity, this role requires:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee must have the ability to move freely throughout school facilities, including classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, and therapy spaces.
