Position Summary
This position supports Dr. John Ruter’s ornamental plant breeding and development program, as well as assists with teaching and/or Extension duties as required. The position is grant funded and employment past one year will be dependent upon additional funding.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification In Position
Proficiency in MS Office, ability to learn and generate statistical outputs, ability to communicate clearly through verbal and written communication, ability to supervise multiple personnel simultaneously, proficient in laboratory, farm and greenhouse operations, knowledge of pest control methods for field, container, and greenhouse pests, ability to learn laboratory and equipmentprotocols. Plant breeding and release protocols and all aspects of propagation and production. Ability to act independently and make decisions. A BS degree in Horticulture or a related field is required, and MS degree is preferred.
