Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Construction Project Superintendent on behalf of our client, a full-service construction management, real estate development, and solar energy organization. This role is based in Tonawanda, NY and is responsible for overseeing on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with schedules and specifications. The Superintendent plays a critical role in coordinating subcontractors, maintaining quality standards, and driving successful project delivery from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
•
Partner with the pre-construction team to understand project scope, requirements, and budgets
•
Assist in developing and maintaining the overall project schedule
•
Develop and enforce site-specific safety procedures, ensuring compliance at all times
•
Monitor daily job site operations to maintain a safe and productive work environment
•
Maintain and complete all project documentation, including daily reports and as-built drawings
•
Create and manage two-week look-ahead schedules aligned with the overall project timeline
•
Coordinate work between subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams
•
Inspect and document work to confirm compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards
•
Ensure materials, equipment, and resources are available on-site as needed
•
Participate in site walkthroughs with owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors, addressing questions and feedback
•
Collaborate with the Project Manager to track budgets versus actual costs and support project profitability
Requirements include:
Education:
•
High school diploma or equivalent required
•
Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
Experience:
•
Minimum of 7 years of experience in the New York construction industry
•
Proven experience in a lead Superintendent or field leadership role
•
Experience managing commercial or industrial construction projects
Skills:
•
Proficiency with Procore Construction Management Software
•
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management tools
•
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
•
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
•
Ability to coordinate multiple trades and manage job site priorities
Certifications:
•
OSHA 30-Hour certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days
Knowledge:
•
Strong understanding of construction processes from planning through execution
•
Knowledge of safety standards, compliance requirements, and job site best practices
•
Familiarity with construction documentation, reporting, and scheduling
•
Basic understanding of construction accounting and insurance
•
Established relationships within the New York construction market preferred
