Advertised Job Summary
This position is a business consultant with responsibility for providing individual consulting and group educational sessions for qualified small businesses related to financial management and accounting. Provide general education on subjects like business structure and contracts, and work with third party legal providers as needed. Specific tasks include:
1. Conduct direct, private individual consulting focused on fiscal management, access to capital and accounting.
2. Develop and conduct group training workshops on topics related to financial management, financing and accounting. Work with partners on legal guidance.
3. Identify and develop collaborative efforts with community partners, lenders, etc. to promote and deliver services.
4. Execute administrative and reporting tasks required by the grant and SC SBDC .
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
• Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and no prior work experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications
• Strong preference for experience working in or with small businesses.
• Experience and comfort level working with disadvantaged businesses.
• Solid working knowledge of business financing and fiscal management.
• Self-starter, goal oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• General business management experience and acumen with economic development orientation.
• Demonstrated relationship-building skill and success in directing/coordinating collaborative projects.
