Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Security Officer at Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital, located in Reading, PA. The Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Daily tasks include monitoring and patrolling hospital premises, responding to emergency situations, enforcing hospital policies, and providing assistance to patients and visitors. The Security Officer will work closely with other team members to ensure a high level of safety and security throughout the facility.
Qualifications
• Strong observational skills, situational awareness, and the ability to monitor and assess potential security threats
• Proficiency in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing, to interact professionally with patients, visitors, and staff
• Knowledge of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and related safety practices
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with security software and equipment
• Physical fitness, including the ability to stand, walk, and respond quickly to incidents for extended periods
• Experience in law enforcement, military, or professional security services is a plus
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a comprehensive background check
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional security or safety training is advantageous
