Job Summary
Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is a non-profit hospital located in the beautiful city of Sarasota, Florida. From our upper floors, you can see the beautiful white sand beaches of Siesta Key, the #1 rated beach in the United States. Our health care system is rapidly growing. We have recently built an additional hospital in Venice, Florida, have added a new Cancer Institute on our Sarasota campus, and are planning a new hospital location in North Port, Florida. This highly experienced leader manages the daily activities of the Audit Services department, has operational accountability and oversight and is responsible assisting in identifying the organization’s financial and operational risk areas, to provide advisory services to help senior management effectively manage those risks, as well as review and appraise the soundness, adequacy and application of accounting, financial and other operating controls in performing financial, operational and IT audits. In this role, the leader sets the tone and models positive leadership behavior, while ensuring successful completion of teamwork tasks, projects, and responsibilities in support of departmental and organizational goals.
Required Qualifications
• Require a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or finance.
• Require Certified Internal Auditor or Certified Public Accountant.
• Require a minimum of five (5) years of internal audit experience in healthcare auditing.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prefer a minimum of three (3) years of public accounting audit experience, as well as experience with Epic, data analytics software such as ACL and/or IT auditing.
• Prefer advanced skills in computer and software use (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentations, automated work papers) to prepare, document, and present analyses, test results, summaries, memoranda, and reports.
• Prefer demonstrated ability to analyze complex systems and operations to determine the accuracy of information, compliance with established policies, practices, laws and regulations.
• Prefer demonstrated ability in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
• Prefer demonstrated ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment and provide decision-making expertise.
• Prefer demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills at all levels.
• Prefer demonstrated leadership skills and understanding of group processes, teamwork, and cost-center based management.
