Switchgear Applications/Design Engineer responsible for interpreting customer drawings, designing circuits, generating engineering documentation, and serving as the technical liaison from customer requirements through production and witness testing.
Job Requirements
•
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
•
3+ years design/manufacturing experience in switchgear assembly
•
Ability to interpret customer drawings and specifications
•
Ability to review and analyze product configurations and components
•
Ability to design circuits and perform engineering calculations
•
Ability to create engineering documentation and support drafting, purchasing, and manufacturing
•
Experience using AutoCAD
•
Experience using common enterprise systems and collaboration tools (POM, ENOVIA, Turnback, Change Notice, Office 365, Teams, AS400)
Preferred Skills
•
5+ years design/manufacturing experience in switchgear assembly
•
Design automation experience
•
PLC programming experience
•
Relay programming experience
•
Experience with automatic transfer programmers
•
Experience supporting customer inspections and witness tests
Job Responsibilities
•
Interpret customer drawings and specifications; clarify requirements and define customer-specific specifications
•
Serve as primary technical liaison for customers regarding product application, performance, and compliance to specifications
•
Manage customer projects from requirements through approvals, inspections, and witness tests
•
Review product configurations and components; design circuits; perform engineering calculations
•
Generate and maintain engineering documentation to support marketing, manufacturing, and sales objectives
•
Provide technical input to drafting, purchasing, and manufacturing personnel and guide production as needed
•
Participate in product design activities and product/market improvements
•
Support productivity, quality, and safety improvement initiatives
•
Participate in customer project review and drawing approval meetings
•
Lead or participate in customer inspections and witness tests
Pay Details: $24.00 to $33.00 per hour
