Lead Accountant – The Landing Senior Living Community

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Lead Accountant to oversee day-to-day accounting operations for our senior living community in Bogart, GA. This role is hands-on and critical to the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a multi-facility environment , has strong QuickBooks expertise, and takes ownership of bank reconciliations and monthly close processes.
This is a full-time, in-office position working closely with owners, operations and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain accurate and complete accounting records using QuickBooks
· Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
· Manage general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations
· Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
· Support monthly and year-end close processes
· Track and reconcile resident accounts, deposits, and leasing-related transactions
· Coordinate with operations staff to ensure accurate revenue and expense coding
· Assist with budgeting, variance analysis, and financial reviews
· Support external accountants, auditors, and tax preparers as needed
· Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting best practices
· Assist with process improvements as the organization grows
Required Qualifications
· 5+ years of accounting experience (industry or public accounting)
· Strong QuickBooks expertise (required)
· Proven experience with bank reconciliations
· Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and financial statements
· High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment
· Strong Excel skills
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in a multi-facility or multi-entity environment
· Residential leasing or property management accounting experience
· Profit center analysis (residential leasing, care services, dining, etc)
· Experience in senior living, healthcare, or real estate accounting
· Prior responsibility for monthly close and internal reporting
· Exposure to budgeting or financial analysis
