Job Summary
The Assistant Unit manager has 24/7 operational responsibility when the Unit Manager is not available. This leader has accountability and oversight and supervises the daily delivery of nursing care in the clinical setting on their unit while perform staff nurse duties as required. In this role, the leader sets the tone and models positive leadership behavior, while ensuring individual and team work tasks, projects, and responsibilities are completed successfully in support of departmental and organizational goals In addition, accountability for the quality of patient care, the performance of nursing staff, assisting with budget management, and the orientation and development of new staff. In this role, the leader also assists with setting the tone and modeling positive leadership behavior, while ensuring successful completion of individual and teamwork tasks, projects, and responsibilities in support of departmental and organizational goals.
Required Qualifications
- Require graduate from accredited school in professional nursing.
- Require two (2) years of current satisfactory registered nurse experience within a long-term care setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer previous management/supervisory experience.
- Prefer the ability to demonstrate accountability for professional practice.
- Prefer the ability to demonstrate excellent communication, management, and problem-solving skills.
- Prefer the ability to work successfully with all levels of staff.
- Prefer working knowledge of advance directives and resident rights.
Required License and Certs
BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License
