Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to support manufacturing operations through accurate product costing, inventory analysis, and financial reporting. This role plays a key part in monitoring cost performance, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and identifying opportunities for cost improvement across multiple product lines.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, review, and maintain product costing and cost standards

Perform inventory audits, cycle counts, and monthly reconciliations between the general ledger and subledger

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial and KPI reports

Conduct profit margin, variance, and actual vs. budget/forecast analyses

Calculate and audit labor and overhead rates

Prepare departmental costing reports and manufacturing cost analyses

Support annual budgeting activities and cost forecasting

Prepare recurring and cost-related journal entries

Assist with balance sheet reconciliations

Support RFQs and quoting activities across multiple product lines

Identify and recommend cost reduction opportunities

Assist with internal and external audits and compliance requirements

Perform ad hoc analysis and other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

3–5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIF/S, pivot tables, charts)

Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment preferred

ERP experience such as Microsoft Navision or similar systems preferred

Quoting and RFQ experience preferred

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Ability to learn new systems quickly and take initiative with ownership of work
