Role Overview
We are seeking a Global Controls Engineer – Automation to support and scale advanced automation solutions across a global manufacturing network. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact international projects, contributing to the development, deployment, and validation of automation systems across multiple continents.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, R&D, and production teams to drive standardisation, efficiency, and innovation within regulated manufacturing environments.
What You’ll Do
• Develop, replicate, and support global automation solutions across manufacturing sites in Europe, North America, and Asia.
• Apply advanced expertise in PLC, SCADA, and motion control systems to global automation initiatives.
• Design, execute, and document software test plans to ensure reliability, compliance, and validation readiness.
• Lead commissioning activities and support validation of control systems.
• Collaborate with R&D and site-based automation teams to align technical strategies and solutions.
• Provide accurate effort and timeline estimates for control software development activities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across automation platforms.
• Contribute to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) objectives.
What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics , or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in an automated manufacturing environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with PLC/SCADA systems and industrial software development lifecycles.
• Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within global teams.
• Strong project management, communication, and organisational skills.
• Willingness to mentor others and continuously develop professionally.
