As a Logistic Coordinator II with the Building Construction Products (BCP) division in Athens, GA you will work independently and on teams to perform duties to maintain and improve engineering processes in an operations environment. This position is in the Athens logistics department. The logistics department is actively involved in automation projects to decrease cost at the Athens facility.What you can look forward to doing in this role:Develop and maintain the processes, tooling, and equipment needed for logistics and packaging requirements.Engage actively with operations to ensure processes within SAP are within standard.Troubleshoot day-to-day process issues, develop solutions, and monitor improvements.Respond to customer issues and lead process improvements to reduce costEstimating costs for Repairs, equipment, materials, and installation as a basis for determining the feasibility of alternatives and return on investment.Collaborate and participate in multifunctional teams.Provide cross shift support as necessary to support production.Work with vendors to purchase needed equipment for process improvements or logistical changes. Providing design information, reviewing, and approving proposals and serving as the primary company contact.Supervising work of outside contractors.Creating technical specifications and functions requirements for facilities related projects.Periodic reporting on standard operating measuresBasic Qualifications:Must have intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, SharePoint, Teams, Planner, Project, etc.)Successful completion of Caterpillar Non-Management Selection Process 2 Yr Degree or equivalent (Current enrollment in an accredited 4 yr college degree program at a Junior level status is considered equivalent to a 2 year degree.) or 2 yrs of related experience in Materials Operations, Packaging or PlanningPhysical requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):Willing and able to sit or stand for prolonged periodsWilling and able to perform repetitive operationsWilling and able to lift up to 35 lbs.Willing and able to drive material handling equipmentTop Candidates for this position may also have:1 to 3 years of industrial, manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, project, or related technical experience. Can include internship, co-op, apprentices, military service, or similar programs.Strong Project Management SkillsSAP ExperienceAbility to read, interpret, and explain engineering drawings.Experience troubleshooting and root cause analysis on day-to-day problemsAble to build strong relationships with various stakeholders.Ability to communicate and have basic knowledge of functions performed by the skilled-trades personnel.Experience with lean manufacturing (Green belt).Additional Information: Resumes are highly encouraged for all applicants.
