About Us
The University System of Georgia (USG) is comprised of 26 higher education institutions as well as the University System Office (USO). Within the USO, our administrative operations are primarily housed in the Trinity Washington Building located in downtown Atlanta. Our Information Technology Services (ITS) division is located in Athens. The University System of Georgia Shared Services Center (SSC) is located in Sandersville. The Georgia Public Library System is located in Atlanta. The Georgia Archives is located in Morrow. The State of Georgia Records Center is located in Austell.
Location
This role is based at the Information Technology Services (ITS) office in Athens, Georgia, located at 2500 Daniells Bridge Road. Onsite attendance is required five days a week, and remote work is not offered for this position.
This position is for permanent, full-time employment. Candidates must reside in the state of Georgia or be willing to relocate to Georgia as a condition of employment.

Job Summary
This is an entry-level professional position that provides project and day-to-day user support for administrative information systems. The position is part of a team of Business Systems Analysts responsible for delivering reliable system support and project outcomes within established timelines and budgets, while taking a coordinated, end-to-end approach to how applications work together. The primary focus of this role is production support and project planning and execution that support strategic and operational improvements and initiatives across the organization.
Under the general supervision of the Application Area Manager, and in coordination with lead analysts, the employee analyzes, interprets, and responds to user issues related to assigned information systems and serves as a subject matter expert (SME) within their functional area. The employee also completes assigned project tasks and works closely with technical and management staff to develop, document, and improve support processes, ensuring that project objectives are met through team collaboration. The employee takes ownership of production support activities, project-related work, and process improvement initiatives within their area of expertise.
Work assignments vary in scope and urgency and may be time sensitive. The customer base and service environment are complex, requiring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance established IT best practices and standard operating procedures with flexibility to meet customer needs. Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Serve as primary SME, providing functional support to end users on the Commitment Accounting and Budget Preparation modules within the PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) System.
• Work with other subject matter experts to support the integration of various application systems between multiple core application systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues requiring high level business expertise.
• Assist in the analysis of requirements, design and development of solutions to meet business requirements.
• Participate in the documentation of functional requirements, system design specifications, use cases, workflow diagrams, and interface designs.
• Work closely with senior Business Systems Analyst to assist in the development of custom solutions and fixes.
• Provide 24/7 on-call rotational support of applications.
• Participate in the implementation of appropriate testing strategy, and prepare resulting test cases and scenarios.
• Perform system testing and assist with Institutional constituents in user acceptance testing as applicable.
• Support change control process and associated tools to fully document and manage application changes.
• Provide content and identify areas that require change for end user documentation (i.e. Business Process, training, Known issues, release notes, etc.).
• Ensure requirements are defined for any changes.
• Analyze impact of changes and resolve any conflicts.
• Document modifications and work with technical analysts to deliver application program modifications and improvements to end users.
• Participate in upgrade, patch and fix analysis and system testing.
• Provide end user training.
• Participate and lead inter/intra departmental business process improvement initiatives.
• Attend relevant training seminars as permitted by workload and budget constraints.
• Participate in organization or system-provided training regarding changes in administrative services law, rules, and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Communications
• Requires good interpersonal communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
• Good written communication skills are also required for writing reports and business correspondence.
Other Skills and Abilities • Flexible, well-organized, and team oriented.
• Able to work on a schedule that includes nights, weekends or holidays when required to address escalated issues.
• Able to travel as needed, including several consecutive overnight stays where applicable, to support organizational objectives and initiatives.
Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree or equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to comfortably work in a fast paced, often ambiguous and event driven environment
Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in information technology, business, or related discipline.
• Exposure to or experience supporting HR, Finance, Budget or ERP systems (through internships, academic projects or prior employment)
• Exposure to system testing, requirements gathering, or workflow documentation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Solid understanding and progressive work experience as a functional analyst supporting a complex human resources or finance information system
• Some familiarity with SQL
Proposed Salary
The salary range for this position is $43,617 to $62,754. Placement within the range will be based on the selected candidate's skills, education, and relevant experience.
