The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, founded in 1946, is dedicated to training future veterinarians, providing services to animal owners and veterinarians, and conducting investigations to improve the health of animals as well as people. The college benefits pets and their owners, food-producing animals, and wildlife by offering the highest quality hospital and diagnostic laboratory services. Duties/Responsibilities
Conduct a thorough search/review of the science literature for manuscripts from peer-reviewed, reputable journals for studies published between 1907 and the present that relate to a topic of interest to be specified by the research team. Add all manuscripts that meet study criteria to an existing Excel bibliography workbook, which will be provided. Once populated, keep the bibliography current.

Read and analyze all manuscripts within the bibliography to determine commonalities that can be called up by keyword searches. Work with team to delineate these categories and organize them in Excel.

Create a worksheet of all corresponding authors included in the final database and their email addresses (in separate fields). Create a worksheet of all editors from all journals included in the final database and their email addresses.

Writing to include: Drafting web content, letters, etc. for the project, as guided by the team. Drafting manuscript detailing the project, findings, its importance, how to access it, etc.

This position provides research support for an on-going multi-year project. The total project includes assisting with creating the database and website for public access to the research project, and drafting/coauthoring a manuscript about our work.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification In Position
Experience with data entry and analysis preferred. Strong interest in pathology preferred. Medical terminology a plus. Interest in human and environmental health a plus. Interest in plastics and relationships between plastics and diseases of animals, humans, plants and/or the environment a plus. Awareness of/interest in databases a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies
Experience with Excel. Communication skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, technical skills, attention to detail.

Lift up to 25 lbs.; sit or stand for extended periods of time; driving as needed to perform job tasks
