The Executive Director of Human Resources provides leadership for recruiting and employing all district personnel, supervising personnel, negotiations, interpretation and implementation of the collective bargaining agreement and all employment contracts. The Executive Director of Human Resources will be responsible for managing the Salina Public School's Human Resources Department.
Essential Functions (see attached job description for complete detail)
• Provides leadership and guidance to the district in developing and implementing proactive, forward-thinking human resources strategies, plans, and solutions that enable achievement of the district's strategic goals
• Leads the recruitment and hiring of a workforce at all levels of the organization
• Oversees- supervises- and is accountable for all managerial aspects of the human resources department including the evaluation of staff
• Interprets Board of Education policies and procedures to employees and the public
• Serves as resource to administrators and other personnel for policy information, procedural and other administrative matters
• Serves as custodian of student records
• Serves as district compliance coordinator for Section 504 of the ADA, bloodborne pathogens, Title VI (EEOC), and Title VII (Civil Rights Act of 1964)
• Serves as the district's investigator for Title IX (Gender Equity)
• Provides strategic guidance and oversight related to Board of Education strategic planning
• Assists in the preparation of the Board of Education meeting agenda
• Advises and informs district personnel and the Board of Education regarding legislative and regulatory requirements related to human capital
• Represents the district as requested regarding legislative matters
• Conducts administrative hearings as requested
• Provides recommendations to the Board of Education and district administration regarding district staffing resources
• Supervises the recruitment and selection of district personnel
• Supervises the evaluation process and professional performance of all administrators and district staff
• Assists with budget oversight and planning

Performs other incidental tasks and services consistent with this position
Education and Experience
Required:  Bachelor's degree in related field plus 5 years leadership/supervisory experience.
Preferred:  Master's degree in Educational Administration or previous experience as Human Resources director.
Salary Information
Administrative Salary Schedule; $126,420 - $151,036; Placement based on education and experience.
