Position Overview: The Fire Sprinkler Design Manager will be responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of fire sprinkler systems for various residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. This position requires a thorough understanding of fire protection codes and regulations, as well as experience in project management and design software.
Key Responsibilities :
• Develop and implement fire sprinkler design plans for various types of buildings including residential, commercial, retail, municipal, industrial, warehouse, educational, and government buildings.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and national fire protection codes, including NICET and NFPA standards.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure efficient and effective fire sprinkler system design.
• Utilize design software such as HydraCAD, HydraCALC, SprinkCAD, AutoSPRINK, and Revit to create accurate and detailed system designs.
• Conduct hydraulic and mathematic calculations to determine the appropriate design and layout of fire sprinkler systems.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
• Oversee the installation and testing of fire sprinkler systems, ensuring compliance with OSHA and safety regulations.
• Train and mentor junior fire sprinkler designers on best practices and industry standards.
• Communicate with clients to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns or issues.
Qualifications:
• NICET 3 or above
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire sprinkler design and project management.
• Extensive knowledge of fire protection codes, including NICET and NFPA standards.
• Proficiency in design software such as HydraCAD, HydraCALC, SprinkCAD, AutoSPRINK, and Revit.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic and mathematic calculations.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in residential, commercial, and industrial fire sprinkler design.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
• Experience with BIM and Navisworks is a plus.
• Previous experience with fire pumps, hydrants, and other fire protection equipment is preferred.
• Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety protocols.
