Do you have experience in cradle-to-grave Project Management for building construction? In this role, you will oversee multiple projects, each generally ranging in size from $2M to over $80M, through planning, design, permitting, bidding, construction and transfer to operations phases. The Sarasota County Capital Projects Department - Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources/Facilities Division currently has over 25 active projects in planning through construction phases, with total project values of approximately $570M and we are seeking a Project Manager/Administrator. • Support CIP Project planning including project processes, budgets, and schedules.
• Act as main point of contact for all stakeholders and vendors on assigned projects.
• Develop and maintain master project schedule.
• Draft solicitations for Professional Services, reviews proposals, negotiate and draft consultant contracts.
• Monitor contract budget and schedule and approve invoices.
• Ensure County standards are being adhered to.
• Manage construction contract and participate in OAC meetings representing Owner Department.
• Monitor budget with respect to construction contingencies and change management.
• Provide on-site resolution of construction issues.
• Confirm completion of construction and permitting certifications.
• Ensure complete and coordinated construction close-out procedures including start-ups, review/distribution of O&M manual and warranty documentation.
• Coordinate transfer of operations to user agencies, Utilities and Facilities.
• Ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations to the County by engineers, architects, construction contractors and other consultants.
• Manage records and documentation for projects in Capital Projects’ Trimble software.
• Assist in cross-training other Capital Projects staff including lessons learned, process improvements, QA/QC.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture or Engineering, Construction Management, or a highly related field AND five (5) years of industry experience.
• -OR- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture or Engineering, Construction Management, or a highly related field AND four (4) years of industry experience.
• -OR- Job-related experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis depending on the type of experience.
• A valid Florida driver’s license at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Active Professional Architect (R.A.) License in the State of Florida.
• Florida Certified General Contractor license (active or inactive).
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• LEED AP or LEED AP with specialty.
CJIS Clearance: The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as a part of the hiring process.
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range : $71,000.00 - $91,700.00, based on your experience and qualifications
