The Materials Planner serves as the primary liaison with our supply base, strategically scheduling material deliveries to ensure seamless alignment with production requirements. Manage the Supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) and Work-in-Process (WIP) inventory levels in strict accordance with site financial objectives and inventory targets. Beyond core planning functions, the Materials Planner actively drives operational excellence by supporting continuous improvement initiatives, including the optimization of production material presentation and warehouse layout strategies to enhance overall site efficiency.This is an onsite role in Athens GA.We value our people and offer an extensive benefits package, with financial rewards including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and also lifestyle support with flexible working and parental leave. Plus, we’ll support your growth with paid-for external training programs and courses.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, order and expedite material to support production schedulesUse MRP and/or visual management tools to ensure continuous supply of materialIssue timely releases to suppliers and confirm supplier acknowledgment of releasesCommunicate and mitigate any material shortagesManage planning parameters to minimize excess & obsolete exposureLead change through participation in improvement activitiesBasic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED with 8+ years experience in production/materials planning and/or, purchasing OR associate degree with 5+ years experience in production/materials planning and/or purchasing OR bachelor’s degree with 3 + years in production/materials planning and/or purchasingPreferred Qualifications CPIM or CPMComfortable working in a dynamic manufacturing environmentQuick learner with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environmentSense of urgency and follow throughEffective English written and verbal communication skillsOrganization and time management skillsProficient in Microsoft Office programsExperience working within an MRP system (JDE/Oracle/LeanDNA)Additional informationMust have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA.
