Position Summary The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of our Amazon DSP delivery network. This role is hands-on and in-person: you will lead from the field, interact with delivery associates, coach supervisors, analyze metrics, and implement procedures that align with both Amazon and company performance and safety goals. Success in this role means meeting productivity, quality, delivery-on-time, cost, and safety targets through effective scheduling, staffing, training, onboarding, coaching, and operational oversight. Key Duties and Responsibilities Lead scheduling, staffing and daily deployment of delivery associates (DAs) and supervisors to meet volume, route-completion, and on-time metrics. Manage the onboarding process for new hires: recruiting, background checks, orientation, training, and field readiness. Coach and mentor supervisors and up to 100 delivery associates: provide feedback, set performance goals, support career growth, and reinforce company culture. Identify, develop and implement operational procedures and safety programs consistent with Amazon delivery station standards and DSP metrics—ensuring alignment with key performance indicators (KPIs) such as safety incidents, on-time delivery, route productivity and quality. Monitor and analyze daily/weekly/monthly scorecards and performance dashboards; identify gaps, root-cause issues and drive corrective actions or continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure delivery vehicles are ready, safe, inspected and meet all regulatory and Amazon standards. Conduct stand-up meetings, field ride-alongs, safety briefings and ensure adherence to standard work and service level agreements (SLAs). Drive a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork and high-performance while assuming a “lead from the floor” mindset when needed. Collaborate closely with company leadership and Amazon stakeholders to integrate changes, refine processes and share best practices. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management or related field strongly preferred. Minimum 3 + years of experience as an operations manager (or similar) leading a team towards identified goals with measurable metrics (e.g., delivery performance, productivity, safety, cost control). Prior experience in last-mile delivery, logistics, transportation or distribution operations is strongly preferred. Military experience a plus; experience within an Amazon DSP or exposure to Amazon operations highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and develop teams, drive accountability and execute on operational plans. Strong analytical mindset: comfortable using data and metrics to drive decisions, improvements and performance. Excellent communication (verbal & written), interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to lead in a hands-on environment. Must be physically able to be present onsite, interact in person with teams in field and facility settings, and adapt to dynamic last-mile operational demands.
