All Faiths Food Bank is seeking a dedicated site manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our newest community-centered market. SUMMARY : The site manager for Margie’s Market is responsible for the overall programs, community engagement, and operations of Margie’s Market. The manager will lead program development and evaluation consistently with the strategic plan, to include client services, food distribution, and community assessments. This individual will serve as a community convenor and subject matter expert, initiating and fostering collaborative community opportunities to enhance referrals and mobilize the community to address hunger. The site manager will also be responsible for market operations and administration, and supervision of a diverse staff, including the supervision of three direct reports, one dotted line report, as well as a volunteer base of twenty-five plus volunteers ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Program Oversight and Evaluation Support strategic plan initiatives; use data-driven, community-based strategies to manage the process, support and strengthen existing partner capacity, and expand AFFB partner and program sites Initiate, facilitate, and support community needs assessments; assist in developing and coordinating facility processes and procedures Working with the Senior Director Food & Resource Initiatives and Senior Director Community Engagement, support and assist with tactical oversight of wraparound services Initiate, coordinate and track client services, including nutrition education, SNAP outreach, wraparound services and referrals for additional services Ensure staff are equipped to collect relevant client information consistently, respectfully, and with the proper level of privacy Maintain knowledge of relevant national work; engage with Feeding America and other relevant experts Coordinate and communicate with AFFB departments to align and develop programs Community Engagement & Leadership Mobilize the community to address hunger in the Newtown community by providing resources and connections; assist communities in better understanding AFFB services and programs Actively serve as a community convenor and recognized subject matter expert; initiate and foster collaborative community opportunities Be the voice for AFFB in the Newtown community; proactively increase the engagement of AFFB in Newtown through community cohorts, meetings, events, and other community-wide activities Support the Community Voices group Operations and Administration Ensure all Margie’s Market planning and activities are communicated to and coordinated with AFFB leadership Receive ServSafe training and manager-level certification Remain informed of the American Institute of Baking International (AIB), USDA, Feeding America, and AFFB food safety guidelines Maintain daily operations of the market floor, including oversight of the pantry and ordering processes Maintain USDA requirements and data tracking efforts Facilitate food safety operations by ensuring the rule of first-in, first-out is strictly followed, by discarding spoiled products promptly, and ensuring accurate records of changes to the inventory are kept Assist with managing the budget, program and staff workplans, and performance management; lead, mentor and develop staff to ensure continuous learning and growth Maintain the daily operations of Margie’s Market, create a safe, welcoming, and respectful atmosphere for clients, volunteers, community members, and donors Ensure food and safety compliance, including facility standards, use and maintenance of company vehicles, and security of the building and inventory Oversee inventory orders and deliveries from AFFB and local food donors Oversee the day-to-day management of volunteers at Margie’s Market AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Flexibility is required. Working mornings, nights, and weekends is to be expected Standard anticipated schedule is as follows: o Tuesday through Saturday o Tuesday: 11 AM to 8 PM o Wednesday: 11 AM to 8 PM o Thursday: 6 AM to 3 PM o Friday: 6 AM to 3 PM o Saturday: 7 AM to 1 PM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Demonstrable knowledge of program planning and coordination Proven, successful experience with community engagement and grass-roots program development; ability to coordinate and facilitate diverse group meetings Strategic thinker and problem solver; self-starter who is driven and able to effectively lead and manage multiple projects, tasks, programs, and functions simultaneously Ability to convey information, guidance, and work directions, instilling a sense of mission, service, cooperation, and collaboration with staff and within assigned work areas Strong interpersonal and networking skills, excellent communication skills, both oral and written Experience with basic data analysis and report preparation Computer literacy and proficiency in technology and common software, as well as the willingness to learn new systems and software Commitment to maintaining confidentiality Capacity to navigate the social service system and advocate for others, through the display of empathy, respect, and understanding of community values Understanding of community resources Team player who enjoys working with diverse populations Other duties as assigned according to the role and mission Committed to serving vulnerable populations to end hunger in the community served by AFFB Acceptance of and commitment to AFFB’s values, vision, and mission QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of, and connection to, the Newtown community required; resident or member of the community preferred Two years of supervisory experience, with at least one year of experience with outreach, in the social services sector, or in a customer service-related role required Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience English fluency is required Bilingual is preferred (Spanish) Ability to meet travel and time requirements, as evening and weekend work is required Valid Florida driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
