Cost Accountant
The Cost Accountant supports the finance and commodity teams in delivering timely and accurate inventory analysis and reconciliation, managing inventory transactions between warehouses and plants, tracking financial data for all movements, along with root cause analysis on material variances.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage and track intercompany transfers of commodity inventory to plants. Work closely with commodity team and plants to reconcile receipts of commodity inventory. Reconcile entry of transactions in system.
• Enter, manage, and reconcile commodity purchase pricing in the system. Work closely with inventory agency (Itochu) to reconcile purchases and invoices
• Reconcile commodity inventory monthly. Work closely with warehouses to track and update inventory and data requirements.
• Reconcile purchases, transfer orders, and entries between systems, addressing issues with warehouse reporting in a timely fashion. Calculate accrual required for inventory damages.
• Work closely with commodity team to assist in inventory purchase forecasting and planning including implications on cash needs. Create and deliver reporting as needed for current and forecasted inventory level
• Create and review reporting for commodity inventory at plants. Work with finance team to calculategrind at each plant
• Calculate margins on commodity third party transactions. Assist in calculation of forecasted margins on contracted commodity sales
• Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and summarize conclusions to aid any department needing assistance
• Actively support new or upgrades to information systems implemented to improve financial reporting
• Comply with all Blommer established policies and procedures

Physical Requirements
• General office environment with majority of time using compute
• Requires infrequent travel of up to 5% of time

• Skills and Work Experience Requirements:
• Three (3+) years inventory or FP&A experience
• Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office suite
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
• Diverse accounting and financial analysis experience. Knowledge of commodities and hedging a plus
• Ability to analyze data
• Organizational skills are essential
• Expected to identify, communicate/escalate, and problem-solve as issues arise
• SAP experience preferred
• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or similar discipline.
• Other certifications helpful (CPA, CMA, CGMA, PMP, etc.)
