Job Responsibilities
Serves as a coordinator and technician. Operate, repair and install Intrusion Detection Systems, CCTV/Access Control Systems, related components and supporting communications equipment statewide. Travel statewide to install, maintain and repair a variety of security equipment and supporting equipment to include but not limited to ultrasonic motion, audio, vibration passive infrared, microwave detection devices and other supporting equipment. Instructs users in the proper operation, testing and trouble-shooting procedures at the user level. Performs semi-annual inspections and test of security equipment and all supporting equipment statewide. Programs alarms system equipment and monitoring equipment to ensure proper protection and operation in security coverage. Perform installation and maintenance on communication equipment that interfaces with the Electronic Security Systems. Manage the scheduling of on call work and semi-annual inspections and testing. Prepare invoices, receipts, vouchers, budget requests and summary reports. Keep the Project Manager's representative up-to-date with the status of all alarms systems and any issues as they arise. Serves as liaison between the IDS users, monitoring stations, the SCNG Joint Operations Center (JOC), various law enforcement agencies, SCNG Telecommunications Section and telephone companies.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
Current or prior NGB certification for Elk M1 intrusion detection system. An Associate degree in electronics technology and/or certificate of training from a military school of electronics and two years' experience in repair and maintenance of electronic equipment or a high school diploma, or equivalent and four years of experience in the repair and maintenance of electronic equipment.
