As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Manager to strengthen and advance our safety culture across both of our manufacturing facilities.
The Health and Safety Manager will lead all safety initiatives, programs, and compliance efforts across Harmar’s two manufacturing locations. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing workplace health and safety policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly collaborative, and passionate about building a strong safety-first culture.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs, policies, and training across both of our facilities.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes to ensure the safety program remains current and effective.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and local safety regulations; prepare for and lead all inspections and audits.
• Conduct regular site safety assessments and risk analyses.
• Lead investigations into safety incidents, near misses, and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Provide safety training for employees on policies, regulations and procedures.
• Track key safety metrics (TRIR, DART, near misses, etc.) and present findings to leadership.
• Partner with Operations, HR, and Engineering to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Promote and drive a strong safety culture through communication, training initiatives and continuous awareness campaigns.
• Lead emergency response planning, including drills and documentation.
• Maintain all safety-related records, reports, and compliance documentation.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience 5+ years, as a Safety Manager in a manufacturing required.
• Risk assessment/management experience
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, manufacturing safety practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing multi-site safety programs strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cultural and behavioral change.
• Certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHST, or OSHA 30/50 are a plus.
