If you already have a Candidate Account, please Sign-In before you apply.Job Description:Automation and Test Development Engineer (Semiconductor Devices)Duties and Responsibilities:Developing systems to characterize the performance of semiconductor lasers, detectors, and passive optical components using DC and RF test instruments and algorithmsWorking with robotic handling equipment and machine visionTransferring automated test systems into a manufacturing environment, including system documentation and work instructionsPerforming failure mode analysis to support continuous improvement of the quality of test dataDeveloping software using Microsoft .NET, Visual Studio, and C++ to automate test systems in a manufacturing environmentPerforming data analysis to evaluate test system and product performanceWorking with manufacturing and product development engineers for yield improvements and test-time reductionCharacterizing test systems using error-of-measurement, process capability, and correlation studiesRequirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Electrical and Computer Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 6+ years, or Ph.D. with 3+ years.Ability to understand the fundamentals of optoelectronic devices, test instruments, and algorithmsStrong problem-solving skills drawing on an understanding of statistical analysis and electrical, mechanical, optical, and software interactions Automation experience including motion control, machine vision, software development, and database accessDetail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skillsHands-on experience working in a high-tech manufacturing and development environmentSelf-management and organizational skills with capability to generate analysis results, create presentations, and sign-off reportsStrong team player with ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environmentFlexibility for occasional travel to other Broadcom sites worldwide.Other Requirements:This job requires working on-site at the Broadcom office, 5-days a week.
