Student Support Services Project Director
Job Responsibilities
The Student Support Services Project Director, reporting to the Vice President of Student Experience and Quality Assurance, has full authority and responsibility for the administration of the TRIO Student Support Services project and for ensuring project objectives are met. The Student Support Services Director is a qualified person with experience in higher education student development, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, managerial abilities, administrative strengths, and strong self motivation and an understanding of academic and cognitive special needs of disadvantaged and under served students.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
Master's degree in higher education administration, counseling, social work or a similar field. Minimum of 3 years experience supervising staff, managing budgets, implementing and evaluating projects. Minimum of 3 years experience administering programs for disadvantaged individuals, preferably TRIO or similar program. Must have demonstrated sensitivity to needs of disadvantaged and ethnically diverse students. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. A valid driver's license and safe driving history are required.

Strong organizational and supervisory skills. Ability to interpret and communicate University policies and procedures, academic requirements, campus resources, student life, and support services. Ability to have sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population, including minority and international students. Strong communication, interpersonal/human relations skills. Ability to encourage and empower students to make their own decisions. Ability to act as an advocate for both the student and the University. Ability to identify students' needs for support services in order to make appropriate referrals and maintain confidentiality.
