Food Technologist Summer Intern
12-week paid internship | Fredericksburg, PA | In-office
Program Overview
The Food Technologist Intern will jump in with our New Product Development team to help bring new food ideas to life while testing, creating, and documenting along the way. You’ll get hands-on experience working with our current products while helping shape the next generation of innovations. This internship gives you a front-row seat to product development, regulatory know-how, and cross-functional teamwork, all while being supported by experienced mentors who are excited to help you grow.
What You’ll Experience
• Support new product development through sample preparation, sensory evaluations, and concept testing
• Assist in documenting formulations, specifications, label reviews, and regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, Organic)
• Conduct basic research on food trends, ingredients, and consumer insights to support innovation
• Observe production trials and help collect data for process improvements and scale-up
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Operations, Quality, Sales, and Brand—while learning how products are commercialized
Qualifications
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork mindset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with industry software is a plus
• Understanding of HACCP, USDA, FDA, and SOP guidelines preferred
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on food safety and hygiene
• Ability to work independently and contribute to a fast-paced development environment
