Cost Accounting Summer Intern
12-week paid internship | Fredericksburg, PA | In-office
Program Overview
Join us for a 12 week internship where you'll dig into the real numbers behind how food gets made. As a Cost Accounting Intern, you won’t be stuck watching from the sidelines—you’ll jump right into plant operations, work closely with our accounting and operations teams, and learn how everyday decisions impact production costs, efficiency, and profitability. You’ll take on a mix of meaningful projects and routine tasks that help you understand our business, our processes, and the Bell & Evans culture.
What You’ll Experience
• Help build and update standard cost models that show the true cost of producing our products from raw ingredients to the final item.
• Partner with operations teams to double-check Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product routings so everything is accurate and efficient.
• Analyze scrap, waste, and yield data and uncover ways we can cut costs and improve recovery.
• Map out plant workflows to pinpoint where data is collected and discover opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Draft, refine, and roll out Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that help keep our processes running smoothly.
Qualifications
• Rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• Completed at least one Cost/Managerial Accounting or Intermediate Accounting course
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills preferred
• Interest in food manufacturing or agriculture and the ability to work full-time on-site in Fredericksburg
