Safety Manager

You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and crews alike, driving continuous improvement in environmental, health, and safety practices across our operations.

What You’ll Do
• Lead safety training, oversight, and compliance for our Concrete line of business
• Conduct regular site visits to engage with teams, identify risks, and promote a proactive safety culture
• Mentor managers in Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), incident investigations, and coaching for safety‑related events
• Oversee contractor safety, ensuring qualifications, insurance, and high‑hazard work compliance (trenching, elevated work, traffic exposure, etc.)
• Partner in pre‑planning for large projects to embed safety from the start
• Facilitate the sharing of best practices across facilities and support Safety/Event Learning Teams (SLT/ELT)
• Guide PPE procurement and ensure crews have the right tools for safe work
• Provide oversight of driver safety training and DOT compliance
• Collaborate with HR, EHS, and leadership to design new initiatives and defend against claims when needed
• Support injury management and Workers’ Compensation processes with professionalism and care
What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, engineering, or sciences preferred (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years in safety management, ideally supporting multi‑site operations
• Experience in concrete manufacturing/delivery highly valued
• Strong communication skills — able to lead by example and foster teamwork
• Proven ability to balance compliance with practical, people‑focused solutions

Requirements
• 18+ years of age, legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to pass pre‑employment screenings (physical, drug, background, driving record)
• Willingness to travel, work flexible schedules, and wear required PPE
• Strong commitment to safety and professionalism in all interactions
