Quality Technician (temporary position)
Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Pate Rate: $18.00 per hour
*Applicant will start out on 1st Shift but must be open to moving to 2nd or 3rd Shift*
*Very detailed and tedious position*
*May be offered a packer position at conclusion of assignment if attendance and work is performance is good*
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform daily quality checks to verify that products meet quality standards as defined by both the company and its customers.
• Follow control procedures for non-conforming ware and communication requirements.
• Quarantine suspect or defective products.
• Collect, record, organize, and distribute quality-related information as required by Manufacturing/Engineering and Sales or as requested by management.
• Report any Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) concerns to appropriate personnel with the authority to correct the issues.
• Conduct first-piece inspections and release products for production, including expedited UN testing.
• Perform raw material testing.
• Be proficient in Packer/Inspector responsibilities.
• Assist in training production employees on quality systems as needed.
• Perform required product measurements and input data into the data collection system (InfinityQS).
• React to alarms or warnings from the data collection system.
• Assist production leadership by training employees on quality requirements and by communicating plans to production personnel.
• Create and use limit sample boards as guidelines for product decisions.
• Communicate and document shift activity, including special instructions, performance concerns, and other issues relevant to upcoming or next shifts.
• Contribute positive suggestions or comments regarding quality, production, safety, and housekeeping.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed; duties may vary by location.
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED
Must have basic understanding of math and reading
Steel toes, hearing and eye protection
Jeans, t-shirts (no rips/holes/nothing vulgar or offensive)
Work/Physical Requirements: (very important and is a must)
Sit, stand, walk for 6-8 hours per day
Lift/carry/push/pull constantly up to 10 lbs; frequently up to 30 lbs.; occasionally up to 70 lbs.
Individuals will constantly grasp and use fine manipulations, frequently handle and feel objects, frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, bend, and lift overhead. Individuals will be exposed to loud noises frequently.
