Description
The EHS Manager is the sole safety practitioner responsible for leading environmental, health, and safety initiatives across a diverse workforce of 150 employees, including both manufacturing and office personnel. While this role does not have direct reports, every employee is accountable for maintaining a safe work environment. Key responsibilities include managing environmental permits, ensuring regulatory compliance, facilitating new hire safety orientations, and conducting monthly OSHA-required training. The EHS Manager also collaborates with other EHS leads within the global Kymera International team and plays a pivotal role in coaching and fostering a culture of safety excellence within a dynamic, fast-paced environment driven by continuous improvement projects.
• Manage site's environmental permits, ensuring compliance, with outside support as required.
• Maintain compliance with all state and federal OSHA regulations.
• Create and conduct new hire safety orientations and monthly OSHA-required training sessions.
• Serve as the lead investigator for all site safety incidents, leading the root cause analysis and coordinating corrective action plans to prevent reoccurrence.
• Collaborate with site management to improve sites safety management systems.
• Maintain and update all EHS related metrics, trending the data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with site leaders to ensure safety needs of production staff are met.
• Prepare and maintain site for ISO 14001 and 45001 audits and certifications.
• Coordinate annual OSHA required medical testing, including audiometric and pulmonary function testing.
• Inspect the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
• Develop and implement inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
• Develop health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
• Draft inspection reports to document inspection findings.
• Chair state-certified Safety Committee and lead meetings monthly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Occupational Safety, or relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with Basic Safe/ EHS Hero or similar platforms required.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time.
• Mobility to occasionally bend, climb, twist, turn, lift, push, pull, grasp, and handle.
• Must be able to listen/ read/ write/ speak in English.
• CSP or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Certified CPR/AED Instructor preferred.
