Senior Merchandising Planner
Job Summary and Work Environment:
The Senior Merchandise Planner is responsible for driving financial results through advanced forecasting, inventory optimization, and strategic merchandise planning. This role partners closely with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to build cohesive seasonal strategies, maximize profitability, and ensure the right product is available at the right time.
Education/Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree preferably in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
• Experience working with various databases and ERP systems.
• 1-3 years of experience in S&OP planning and forecasting
Essential Functions:
• Supports recommendations for forecasts for all relevant products based on sales analysis and PLM sales plans by style.
• Analyze sales trends and make recommendations based on demand for products.
• Identify and investigate discrepancies in inventory.
• Collaborate with Logistics to place and monitor purchase orders.
• Collaborate with production planning for MO placement and scheduling, all sports.
• Report data on excess and obsolete inventory and make proper recommendations for inventory movement.
• Maintain inventory and planning metrics for OTB report monthly.
• Partner with Commercial, Sourcing, Product Development, Operations, and Customer Conversion teams to understand the business and maximize sales/ inventory position
• M3 Operations for planning.
• Other necessary assignments as needed.
Skills and Abilities:
• Strong Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, etc.)
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Must be a strategic thinker able to anticipate inventory needs based on data analysis.
