This is a Direct Hire solicitation - This position is being advertised via Direct Hire Authority (DHA) for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce. THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE SOLICITATION - THIS POSITION IS BEING ADVERTISED THROUGH THE DIRECT-HIRE AUTHORITY (DHA) FOR CERTAIN PERSONNEL (MODIFIED DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY, SECTION 1109; PL, 116-92, DATED 12/20/2019). ( This authority is primarily being used to appoint qualified candidates who are not existing Department of Defense competitive service employees with permanent status.)

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. General and/or Specialized Experience: Six months of general experience which includes experience in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work as qualifying as long as the experience provided a familiarity with natural or cultural history; fish or wildlife habitat characteristics; techniques of resource protection and use; recreational use of public lands and facilities; enforcement of laws, rules, or regulations; fire prevention techniques and fire suppression methods; or the practice of interpersonal relations skills in dealing with the general public; AND three months of specialized experience which includes experience in technical, administrative, or scientific work, fish and wildlife management, recreation management, law enforcement, or other park-related work as qualifying with specific examples such as park guide or tour leader; law enforcement or investigative work; archeological or historical preservation research work; forestry and/or fire management work in a park, recreation, or conservation area; or management, assistant, or program specialist work involving the development and implementation of policy related to protection, conservation, or management of park areas or similar operations.

Education: One year of education above the high school level with six semester hours of related course work in natural resource management, natural sciences, earth sciences, history, archeology, anthropology, park and recreation management, law enforcement/police science, social sciences, museum sciences, business administration, public administration, behavioral sciences, sociology, or other closely related subjects pertinent to the management and protection of natural and cultural resources.

Combination of Education and Experience : A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 9. Then divide your semester hours of education by 30.
