Overview We are seeking a dedicated Hospital Floor Technician to join our environmental services team. This vital role involves maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment across hospital floors and patient care areas. The ideal candidate will have experience in janitorial or custodial services, with a focus on floor care and sanitation standards essential for healthcare settings. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient safety and comfort through meticulous cleaning and maintenance practices. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of hospital floors, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting high-traffic areas. Conduct carpet cleaning and spot removal to maintain a pristine environment. Utilize buffing machines and other equipment to restore floor shine and ensure smooth surfaces. Follow established protocols for environmental services to prevent the spread of infections. Maintain cleanliness of all assigned areas, including corridors, patient rooms, and public spaces. Properly handle cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency during operations. Adhere to infection control policies and safety procedures at all times. Report any maintenance issues or hazards identified during cleaning routines to management promptly. Qualifications Prior janitorial or custodial experience, preferably in healthcare or commercial cleaning environments. Knowledge of floor care techniques such as buffing, stripping, sealing, and carpet cleaning. Experience with environmental services standards related to infection control is a plus. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow specific cleaning protocols accurately. Ability to operate cleaning machinery safely and effectively. Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting, and moving equipment throughout shifts. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
