We service more than 104,000 water connections, 91,000 sewer connections, and 4,000 reuse connections. Our infrastructure includes hundreds of lift-stations and three wastewater reclamation facilities, capable of processing 30 MGD of county’s wastewater and producing reclaimed water for landscaping and biosolids that can be composted.
Additionally, three water treatment plants and 7 pump stations service the county with 36 MG of water storage capacity. Our innovative Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) program is helping food establishments safely dispose of cooking oil, grease and food waste that creates harmful sewer overflows.

About This Role
• Manage and lead large-scale, multi-million-dollar technical projects within the utility operations unit
• Oversee multiple complex projects simultaneously and be capable of making critical operational decisions
• Assist in managing design and construction contracts to ensure engineers, contractors, and consultants meet obligations and GMP standards
• Assist in developing, troubleshooting and maintaining county SCADA system for water and wastewater plants
• Develop and maintain project timelines, cost estimates, and monitor CIP project expenditures
• Track project progress, prepare progress reports, and reviews payment requests
• Initiate, authorize, and oversee scope change requests
• Coordinate and evaluate work across cross-functional teams, including engineers, inspectors, and operational staff
• Provide leadership to project teams and assist in resolving disputes and technical issues
• Ensure adherence to design standards and coordinates permitting and on-site problem resolution
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in Engineering, Project Management, or related field AND seven (7) years of related project management experience
• -OR- A Master’s degree in a related field AND six (6) years of job-related experience
• -OR - Related project experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis depending on the type of experience
• A Valid Florida driver’s license at the time of hire
Preferred Qualifications
• Comprehensive experience in design, construction, and contract administration
• Supervisory experience of large utility projects, design and implementation of SCADA systems
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through the Project Management Institute
• Experience in PLC programming, process control system architecture, HMI configuration, SCADA Network design, and P&IDs
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $74,713.60 - $103,000.00/ annually, based on experience
