This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Outside Account Manager to join a growing organization that values integrity, teamwork, and long-term relationships. This role covers the Tampa Bay, Sarasota, and Bradenton region. The initial training period will require on-site presence in the Lee County area for approximately six months.
Position Summary
The Outside Account Manager serves as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring client needs are met through proactive communication, strategic relationship management, and consultative selling.
This individual will manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting new business and delivering proposals to managing ongoing accounts and ensuring project success. They will partner closely with estimating, operations, and project management to align pricing, production capacity, and delivery schedules to customer expectations.
Success in this role requires a blend of technical knowledge, business acumen, and relationship-building skills, with a focus on long-term growth and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Relationship Management
• Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers across construction, engineering, and development firms.
• Conduct in-person client meetings, site visits, and presentations to expand customer engagement and identify new opportunities.
• Collaborate with estimating and project management teams to ensure proposals meet customer specifications and project timelines.
• Follow up on all quotes, capturing customer feedback in CRM for ongoing improvement.
• Manage account performance, forecasting, and pipeline activity within assigned region.
Customer Experience & Project Support
• Act as the central point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure smooth order flow, accurate documentation, and timely delivery.
• Resolve field or delivery issues quickly and professionally, maintaining the company’s reputation for service excellence.
• Provide technical support and communicate specification requirements to internal teams.
Market Development & Strategy
• Research and identify new customer segments and potential markets.
• Stay informed on competitive activity, pricing, and regional construction trends.
• Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and industry associations.
• Contribute ideas for new product development and process improvement.
Collaboration & Reporting
• Work closely with leadership to align on regional goals and account strategies.
• Maintain accurate CRM and ERP data for quotes, jobs, and account activity.
• Submit timely expense reports, mileage logs, and activity summaries.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
• Minimum 4 years of B2B outside sales experience, preferably within construction materials, precast, or related industrial sectors.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to read and interpret civil or engineering drawings and specifications, or a willingness to learn.
• Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); CRM experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel within assigned territory and visit project sites regularly.
Preferred:
• Background in construction, civil engineering, or precast manufacturing.
• Experience selling technical or engineered products.
• Working knowledge of ERP or CRM systems.
